FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Everything you need to know about visiting us. Still have a question? Give us a call — we're happy to help.
Grooming
What do I need to bring for my grooming appointment?
We need you to fill out and sign a grooming enrollment form and authorization form, and to bring a copy of your pet's up-to-date vaccination records.
Can I stay with my pet while they are getting groomed?
We don't usually allow owners to stay, because having a parent in the room can distract the pet and cause them to move around more during grooming. If you'd like to stay, let us know and we'll discuss options for setting up the appointment.
How long does grooming take?
It varies by size, coat type, and temperament — temperament is usually the biggest factor, since a dog that moves around means the groomer must go slower. On request we'll try to give you a timeframe, and we'll call to update you if it will take longer than planned.
How do I book an appointment?
Call us or come in to schedule. We don't make appointments over email. You can also request a specific groomer.
Do you take walk-ins for grooming?
Yes, we take walk-ins based on availability. During busier seasons we recommend calling ahead to schedule.
What if I cannot make it to my appointment?
We understand things come up. Please let us know as soon as possible so we can open the slot for someone else.
Daycare & Boarding
What do I need to set my dog up for daycare or boarding?
We'll set up a one-hour test screening so we can meet your dog and get a feel for their temperament and how they get along with other dogs. You'll fill out our daycare enrollment and authorization forms and bring updated shot records for rabies, bordetella, and DAPP. Dogs that pass the screening become daycare clients and can come play anytime.
Where does my dog sleep during overnight boarding?
We pride ourselves on being as cage-free as possible. We separate dogs into different rooms or pens — pens have no ceiling, so they're less claustrophobic than a cage.
Will you feed my dog?
Yes. You can set a feeding schedule for your pet. If you bring your own food, feeding is free; there is a $3 fee to feed our house food. We don't leave food out during the day, since other dogs may try to eat it.
My dog has special medications — can you administer them?
Please inquire with us about any medications your pet may need during the day.
Can you take my dog outside to do their business?
We take all the dogs to our yard every hour and a half. We can also walk your dog around the block for a nominal fee.
Is there somewhere my dog can rest during the day?
Yes — there are cots set up throughout the daycare area, and we can separate any dog from the pack to rest on request.
What are the daycare hours?
Daycare follows our regular store hours. You can pick up and drop off anytime within those hours (pickup is 30 minutes before closing).
Dog Walking & Pet Sitting
How do I set my pet up for dog walking or pet sitting?
Call us to schedule a meet-and-greet. A staff member visits your home to meet you and your pet, take down care instructions, do a key check, and go over the required forms.
Can I set a regular schedule?
Yes, and we encourage it — a regular routine gives your pet consistency through the week.
Can you feed my pet as well?
Yes, we're happy to feed your pet. Feeding time is included in the dog walking / pet sitting visit.
Do you pet sit animals besides dogs and cats?
Sometimes — please call to inquire. We've even pet sat a client's turtle before.
What are the hours for dog walking / pet sitting?
Between 10:00am and 8:00pm, in two-hour intervals. If you need special hours, let us know and we may be able to accommodate.
